The songwriting team of Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus met up in 1966, found they could write together and planted the seed of fame and fortune which was to grow into the extremely fruitful Abba.
As the swinging sixties gave way to the '70's, the stage was set for a new musical revolution, having lost The Beatles and many of the other trendsetters of the previous decade. When Swedish pop group Abba took the stage for the first time together in November 1970 in Gothenburg, no-one, least of all these budding performers, could have guessed that by 1976 the group would have sold a staggering 30 million singles and 12 million albums!
